This isn’t a DVD rip. It’s an actual ISO meaning you burn to disc and watch on your DVD player.

oh, sry for saying wrong, so the quality is good than avi right?

  • 8. blinx01  |  November 21, 2008 at 1:11 pm

Easily. The bitrate is 9.49Mb/s which is about as high as you’ll get on DVD, meaning the best quality you’ll find anywhere for Gintama.

His last release was about 3 months ago (last DVD of Straight Jacket).
I don’t think he’s interested in this hobby anymore. Last I heard he was too busy watching anime and asian dramas.

More info and torrent here [...]

Are the subtitles a bit low for everyone else? I find that it’s often slightly cut off at the bottom when I play the disc. The subs for the signs and all that are spot on in place, but the main dialogue subs are much too low for 4:3, they should be adjusted a bit higher.

What sort of TV are you using to watch these on kitches? Widescreen or 4:3?
I’ve tested it on the 3 widescreen TV’s I have in my house and it’s fine, although I don’t have a 4:3 so maybe that’s the problem?
If so, I’ll nudge them up abit for the next release.

  • 20. kiches  |  November 26, 2008 at 2:08 am

I used a 4:3 tv, so it probably isn’t a problem with widescreen televisions. I had a bit of the same problem before with the Evangelion 1.0 movie as well, but all the other releases so far have been fine. I’ve used your subbing guide before too to make 4:3 subs and they don’t turn out as low as the ones on Gintama.

  • 21. blinx01  |  November 26, 2008 at 3:11 am

With the 4:3 track on recent releases I’ve positioned the subs in the black border at the bottom. I used to have a 4:3 TV myself, which I used to test this on, and it was fine, but obviously the results vary with different TV’s.
I’ll try and budge them up a little higher for future releases.
    Thanks for the feedback.
