  • 2. NeptuneElf  |  January 30, 2009 at 7:08 pm

Another Home Run from Blinx01! Thanks! Love your releases.

  • 3. blinx01  |  January 30, 2009 at 9:24 pm

No, although I’ll probably make one in the future since quite a few releases are including 4 eps these days.
    For now, I’d suggesting combining the info provided in these;
    - (Deals with relinking OP/ED and stripping stuff) http://www.omni-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8767&start=0
    - (Deals with proper re-encoding, none of this DVD Shrink or Fab DVD crap) http://asiandvdclub.org/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=7695

its just some of the dvds i have
Audio is LPCM and i just want to convert it to AC3

  • 5. blinx01  |  January 30, 2009 at 11:32 pm

In that case you need Sonic Scenarist and use the Audio Encoder included in that package. It’s pretty much a 3 click process.

  • 6. pnilz  |  January 31, 2009 at 1:26 pm

Great job, just a thought but will you do dvd9 releases?

  • 7. blinx01  |  January 31, 2009 at 9:44 pm

Probably not. I only plan to upload DVD5’s here since most people can’t afford to burn DVD9’s.

  • 8. killerhex  |  January 31, 2009 at 11:51 pm

hey blinx what usenet service do you use and what client

  • 9. blinx01  |  February 1, 2009 at 10:58 am

    Service: Giganews
    Client: GrabIt

  • 10. textureheap  |  February 4, 2009 at 7:11 am

Is there a particular font I should have on my system for this release? I’m getting a bit blocky looking subtitles (PowerDVD7).

  • 11. pnilz  |  February 4, 2009 at 5:55 pm

You need to install support for east-asian languages.

  • 12. Floflo  |  February 6, 2009 at 2:37 pm

… Actually since the subtitles are VobSubs (basically pictures and not actual text) you don’t need any particular font (you can play the DVDs in a DVD player and a DVD player has no embedded font for subtitles).
The subtitles look “blocky” because they are VobSubs. Bear with it or convert the subtitles to another format if you know how to do it :D

  • 13. blinx01  |  February 6, 2009 at 3:01 pm

    @ textureheap
Just to touch upon what Floflo stated, they may indeed look blockly if you’re not used to DVD format subs.
With the DVD format, the subs are actually .bmp image files, and due to the resolution of DVD, may indeed look blocky.
Also bear in mind, if you’re watching stuff on your PC-only, then you’re better off getting rips than actual DVD’s. You won’t notice the quality difference on a PC, and you can do more stuff with the subs.
These DVD’s are really aimed at the people who watch stuff on their home entertainment set-ups and want to form a collection of DVD’s rather than rips intended for PC playback.

Well if blinx01 doesn’t mind, i can provide a DVD9 of Toradora, My sub title version is ok, but i have the patch that Blinx01 made, plus i still have the raw DVD, so i can make a DVD9 just like his DVD5

Just let me know, because i am working on a few sub title projects myself,

  • 15. buppa  |  February 18, 2009 at 3:03 pm

yo blinx, any chances of you continuing your soul eater project?
rumbel haven’t dropped the show, they’re just using a new name, AllHailExcalibur, so you don’t have to use some crappy subs. it would be awesome if you could continue that project, i don’t believe funimation will do the show justice :(

  • 16. blinx01  |  February 18, 2009 at 3:23 pm

    @ buppa
    I wasn’t aware of that.
I’ll download a few of their eps just to be sure of the quality and if I’m happy with it, I shall continue where I left off.

  • 17. buppa  |  February 18, 2009 at 3:52 pm

well, that would certainly be awesome :D

  • 18. joetex72  |  February 22, 2009 at 7:02 am

Hey, blinx, how does MeGUI’s audio encoder work as opposed to Sonic Scenarist’s? Have you ever tried it?

  • 19. blinx01  |  February 22, 2009 at 5:52 pm

    @ joetex72
I’ve never tried it. Sonic Audio Encoder is a professional tool meaning it’s fully compatible with every DVD player, so I’ve always stuck to that.
For example, BeSweet can do the same job, but some Pioneer DVD players have trouble with anything edited with that program, meaning no audio playback.
I don’t know if MeGUI’s is the same, but if you have Sonic’s version on hand, it’s best to stick to that.

Come on! Make DVD9 version of ToraDora! I hate reencoded DVDs and blank Verbatim DVD DL is less than 1 Euro at the moment.

  • 21. MikeGold  |  March 7, 2009 at 11:01 am

Hey, Blinx, would you be so kind and share your script for ToraDora so I could encode my own DVD9? I’ve just downloaded Raw… Thanks in advance.

  • 22. blinx01  |  March 9, 2009 at 1:43 am

I don’t do DVD9’s on my blog sorry, since most people struggle to comprehend downloading 4GB never mind DVD9 sizes. lol
I’ll post a link to the .sup files in the next few days.
The process to apply them to DVD is included in my tutorial.
I think I edited the CLUT though but you can always change the colours to whatever you like in DVDSubEdit.

  • 23. MikeGold  |  March 9, 2009 at 1:55 am

Thanks alot. I was doing something like that in the past. I was translating Tsukuyomi to Polish and released it for fans in DVD ISO (well in old times I had to offer them that I will send it by post, because noone wanted to download over 4GB). So I shouldn’t have problems creating that. I really appreciate your will to help. If it comes to downloads, thats one of the reasons why I hate torrents. Download of your Zetsubosu took me a damn 24 hours, while if it would be on megaupload it would take less than 2 hours (typical speed around 2.9MB/s). Have you thought about using any of those services? No problems with seeds etc.

  • 24. MikeGold  |  March 9, 2009 at 2:56 am

Man, you should have told me that I can already download the patch to your release from Asian DVD Club. I’ve found it there accidently.

  • 25. MikeGold  |  March 9, 2009 at 2:14 pm

By the way, would you be so kind and share the DVD cover? You can just up it to mediafire.com That would be great…

  • 26. blinx01  |  March 11, 2009 at 5:13 pm

All of my scans be found at http://www.aacovers.net/
I’ve been considering sharing a select few here for a while now, but haven’t come to a decision yet.

  • 27. MikeGold  |  March 11, 2009 at 11:47 pm

The problem with them is that you have to share something to be able to download. I have nothing I could share with them, so my chances to get those covers are a little bit low. Well, if you don’t want to share the covers, I’ll probably have to find “Share” and try download them on my own.
Thanks for info anyway ;) .

  • 28. BandAiD  |  March 13, 2009 at 9:23 pm

Thanks blinx, it’s awesome you did DVD5 versions, I’m one of those people who can only afford doing DVD5 burning, for multiple reasons such as not having a DVD9 burner, as well as the higher cost on DVD9 discs.

Thanks again, I’m happy to see that you’re doing ToraDora!

  • 29. Albafica  |  June 12, 2009 at 6:03 pm

    PLEASE Seeders! (Y_Y)

  • 30. MJ  |  June 29, 2009 at 10:36 am

Could someone please help seed. Stuck at 94.4%.

Thanks so much for the releases Blinx. Great work.

  • 31. daz  |  June 30, 2009 at 12:19 am

    Still stuck at 94.9%

  • 32. MJ  |  July 3, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Come on folks….final push. Stuck at 99.5%. Help me out here and I will happily seed this for a good amount of time so you don’t have to. Taken me weeks to get this ISO file.

  • 33. daz  |  July 5, 2009 at 8:58 am

I’ll second MJ…we need someone to put this seed up for just enough time to get the last .5% then we’ll take over seeding. Onegaishimasu!

  • 34. Thomas  |  July 7, 2009 at 12:39 am

I 3rd that request :P . It’ll be amazing if someone can seed for like an hour to finish out the last half percent of the file. Thanks.
